The Really Quick
Description:
Prospect Hill Forge is a teaching smithy in Waltham Massachussetts
about 10 miles west of Boston, just inside Rt 128/95. We
offer classes in beginning and intermediate blacksmithing, and open
smithy time for personal projects.
We
take the occasional commission, but our primary focus is on teaching
and sharing the joy of working hot iron. We have four coal
forges and most classes have a student:teacher ratio of 4:1 or
better.
A quick guide to the site:
Home - the real home page of
this site, this
page is sort of a side-door for you coming from a Google ad. Home would be
the page to bookmark for Prospect Hill Forge.
Calendar -
the schedule of classes we currently plan to offer in the near future.
Click on the pictues or class names to get descriptions and
registration information.
Safety -
our basic clothing requirements and the text of our standard waiver.
Class Descriptions - a collection of ideas for classes, some are well fleshed
out, some are just sketches, some have already been taught. If there's
something in there that interests you give a yell, we'll try to work
something out.
Gallery of Student Work - pictures of our students and the things they have made in class.
Products -
pictures of work by our instructors.
The rest should be self-explanatory.
