Our Third Birthday Party
Celebrating Three Years in Business

We opened officially on May first 2007 but our Grand Opening Bash was later in the month, so it seems fitting that our Birthday Party should be a bit late too and the evening of Saturday the 8th of May (New Date!) fits that bill beautifully.

If you like, you can come early and visit the Open House next door at Metalwerx the jewelry school next-door.

We'll have one of the forges charged with charcoal so that we can cook over it. (Food cooked over coal is not a tasty treat.)

So, mark your calendars to drop by the smithy have a schmooze, a beverage, and a nibble. As with any Open house, if you've completed Basics or Rudiments III you can come in and play on our dime.

No charge, but feel free to bring party supplies. per student
Legally we have to limit attendance at any one time to, what, 50 people I think.

Prerequisite:

Required: A rapid Covid test that day.
Yes, really, we're still asking for it in 2025.
It's still out there, and no fun at all.

Please wear proper clothing for visiting or working in the forge:
- closed top shoes
(Preferably leather, preferably high-topped. Sneakers are sufficient... but sandals, crocs, pumps, mules... are not. If you can see the skin of your foot, or the foot of your socks, it's not good enough.)
- natural fiber clothing
(Synthetics are a risk because: IF a HOT thing touches them it's likely that the material will melt and stick to your flesh, making the burn even worse than it would be through a natural fiber.)
- long pants that cover the tops of the shoes.
(To keep hot coals and bits of steel from getting down into your shoes. Which I hear is a bunch of No Fun.) Click here for more safety information.

(The notification list gets emailed soon after classes are put on the schedule.)

- or we've fallen behind in our clerical duties and not entered it in the database.
