Simple Knives


We will start with a piece of coil spring and make a simple, one piece knife, suitable for cooking, eating, or general utility use.

Techniques include, straightening, drawing out, twisting, flattening, annealing, filing, grinding, hardening, and tempering.

Students should have taken at least A Taste of Blacksmithing or already have some smithing experience.
