Cooking Tripod

In this class we will make a tripod for cooking over a camp fire.

This is the first in our series of classes specifically aimed at historical reenactors and living-historians*.

Everyone needs to eat, so someone needs to cook.
Whether you're doing Medieval, RevolutionaryWar, French and Indian, Civil War (English or American), or even Cartho-Roman, one of the best ways to hold your pot or cauldron over the fire is with a tripod. This is a good solid design that stands well and can also be arranged as two verticals with a horizontal either as a spit or as a bar for hanging utensils from. The parts disassemble easily for transport. You'll need a few 'S' hooks or a trammel hook to adjust the height of your cookpot. (Watch for a trammel hook class coming soon)

Techniques: hacksawing, drawing-out, bending, twisting (optional)

"A Taste of Blacksmithing" or equivalent hammerskill expected.

*It is not required that you be a historical reenactor or living-historian to participate in this class.
